James K. “Ken” Davis Sr, 77, of Youngsville, passed away at his home on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was born in Washington D.C., a son of the late Charles W. Davis Sr. and Irene Eaton Davis.
Ken served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years as a seaman. He graduated with honors from Rappahannock Community College with a degree in police science. Ken was a Deputy Sheriff, and then promoted to Captain of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Dept. He was also a K9 Officer. Ken was an instructor at the Criminal Justice Academy.
He was predeceased by siblings: Charles W. Davis Jr., Shirley Yates, and Wilma Vincent.
Ken is survived by his children: James K. Davis Jr. and wife, Cheryl, and Tina Procopio and husband Domenic; his grandchildren: Ronnie Procopio and wife Courtney, Jacqueline Brown and husband Tom, Julie Barham and husband Donivan, Craig Grant Jr. and Brittany Furrow and husband John; great grandchildren: Ariana Procopio, Avalynn Barham, Donivan Barham Jr., Madison Barham, Josie Brown, Thomas Brown Jr. and Harper Furrow; siblings: Sandra Strous, Brenda Davis and Larry Davis, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at ,October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., at his sister’s home, Brenda Davis 18140 Tidewater Trail Tappahanock, Va 22560. He will be inurned privately at Northern Neck Memorial Grounds in Callao, Virginia.
