James Louis Freeman, Sr., 86, of Raleigh passed away Friday, September 4, 2020. He was born October 17, 1933 in Crawford, GA son of the late Claude and Josephine Freeman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jean Daniels Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Wake Forest United Methodist Church. He was also an avid golfer.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 4:00 P.M. in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. at Bright Funeral Home.
He is survived by two sons, Louis Freeman and wife Joan of Wake Forest and Scott Freeman and wife Kathy of Raleigh, grandchildren, Jake Freeman of Louisville, KY, Amanda Johnson and husband Ryan of Clayton, Zach Freeman and wife Lauren of Houston, TX, Abbey Freeman of Raleigh and Corey Freeman of Washington, D.C., great grandchildren, Marshall Johnson, Hannah Johnson, William Freeman and Juliana Freeman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Wake County, 1001 Blair Drive, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27603-2030.
