James L. "Bo" Estes

James L. “Bo” Estes, 90, of Raleigh passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home. He was born April 28, 1931 in Wake County to the late Myrtle Estes Adams. He was raised in Wake County by his grandparents, Sidney and Bessie Estes, on the family farm on New Light Road.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was so proud and had so much love for his family.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, 14705 New Light Road, Wake Forest, NC with Dr. Michael Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the home. Please practice social distancing and face coverings are required.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Estes, two daughters, Gail Bryant and Tara Leigh Haynes (Jody), grandchildren, Jason Bryant, Scott Bryant (Sarah), Katie Haynes and Emma Haynes, great grandchildren, Georgia Mae Bryant, Moses Bryant and Emmylou Bryant, a brother, Billy Adams, special cousins, Gladys Woodlief, J.T. Estes, Corrine Johnson and Curtis Barlow, nephews, Bert Marshall (Wanda), Jonathan Shearin (Kim), Mike Adams and Shane Adams. Two sisters, Jean Shearin and Ruth Marshall, preceded him in death.
