Jane R. Speer

Jane R. Speer, 61, of Youngsville passed away at Rex Hospital on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Jane was born in Raleigh, NC, at Rex Hospital on March 20, 1960. She was a 1978 graduate of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. She went on to graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1982. Jane accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1986. Jane worked a variety of occupations in her life, but the one that brought her the most fulfillment was being an elementary school teacher at Neuse Baptist Christian School in Raleigh and at Crossroads Christian School in Henderson. Jane was also a member of Faith Youngsville Church for over 20 years where she volunteered in the children's ministry. Jane enjoyed reading, walking, traveling around North Carolina, and spending time with her beloved family. Jane's most important ambition in life was to be an outstanding wife to her husband and mother to her children, which she did so until the day of her death.

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. in the Bright Funeral Home chapel.  Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.  The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jane is survived by her husband, James Speer, a daughter, Kaitlyn Speer, a son, Ryan Speer, a sister, Joan Redecker Sims and many nieces and nephews.  Her parents, Henry W. and Christine B. Redecker and a brother, Hank Redecker preceded her in death.
