Janice Reed Sessoms

Janice Reed Sessoms, 73, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2019. She was born June 6, 1945 in Canada, Kentucky, to the late Carl Earl Reed and Vicey Mabel Runyon Reed and step-mother Sadie Marie Reed. Janice was predeceased by her siblings Jack Reed and Myrtle Williamson.

She is survived by her daughters: Annette Gardner, Robin Layton (Jeff), Tammy Liles (Billy), and Rometa Summerlin (Chris); grandchildren: Jenna Ochsenhirt (Michael), Jessica Liles (Chris), Cassie Watkins (Nathan), Justin Gardner (Lexi), Paige Sessoms, Zachary Layton, and Rianna Layton; great-grandchildren: Jayden Redman, Heath Ochsenhirt, Ella Ochsenhirt, and Dash Waktkins; brothers: Larry Reed and Clinton Reed; lifelong friends: LaRue Gregory, Bonnie Whitman, Sarah Richert, and Kay Thacker. She will also be missed by her many friends she developed over the last two years as a resident at Turnberry Senior Living.

Janice walked with her Lord and Savior for many years while living her testimony. We, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are blessed to hold such loving memories of one so dear to us.

“Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us.”

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Transitions LifeCare 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm (one hour prior to service) at the funeral home.
