Joann O’Neal 72, of Youngsville died suddenly Monday after a short, but hard fought battle with cancer. She was a homemaker most of her life,
Joann leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Linwood O’Neal of the home; three children, Kristy Harrison and her husband, Todd of Youngsville, David Duke and his fiancé Lisa Williams of Franklinton, Bret O’Neal and his wife, Joan of Bunn; four grandchildren, Tyler O’Neal and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Coggins, Ashleigh Campbell and her husband, Thomas, Dylan Harrison and her boyfriend, Victor Gonzalez, Hollie Boeye and husband, Casey; a great-grandchild Evan; a sister, Corrine Norden of Townsville; as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Sophie, and her loving cat Pee Wee.
She was predeceased by her parents, Goodrich and Florence Dickerson of Durham, her sister Sadie Baker of Florida, and her brother MacArthur Dickerson of Durham.
She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild with all her heart, as well as all her family and friends, she had a passion for life, fishing, traveling and cookouts with her family, her favorite place was Aruba, her motto was YOLO. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Joann has requested that casual attire by worn for her visitation and service.
Memorial services for Mrs. O'Neal will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, June 29th in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, June 28th at the home, 2209 Timberlake Rd, Franklinton and 3:00-4:00 pm Saturday, June 29th in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest. (919) 556-5811
