John Ethan Shearon

John Ethan Shearon lost his battle with colorectal cancer on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.  He was loved by many and he deeply loved his family. The tall, quiet man of wisdom leaves a huge hole in our family’s hearts.

John was born November 29, 1965 in Raleigh, NC. He graduated from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in 1984 and also graduated from UNC Wilmington. He worked for N.C. State University for 21 years. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

John enjoyed going to the river and the beach with his family and spending time on the water.  His favorite pastime was fishing.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. at Flat Rock Baptist Church in the fellowship hall.

John was married for 25 years to his wife and best friend Theresa Shearon. He is also survived by his children, Clayton (Emily), Ethan (Tara) and Ann Marie, his granddaughter, Adeline, his mother, Julia O. Shearon, brother, Charles (Suzanne) and many other family members, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bayard Shearon, Sr.
