Joseph Claude Hicks Jr.

Joseph C. Hicks, Jr. 81, of Youngsville was taken home to be with his Lord on Wednesday December 27, 2017. He passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home with his family by his side. He lost his battle with cancer.

He retired with Hertz Equipment Rental after serving 42 years of service.
He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Pleasant Gardens, NC. He played the guitar in church which he truly enjoyed. He also played guitar with the Gospel Road Band.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife; Lilian Hicks, his father and mother; Joseph C. Hicks, Sr. and Daphine Hicks, brothers; C.D. Horton and James Hicks, a sister; Peggy Crawford.

He is survived by his daughter; Diane Sutton and husband Bill, grandson; Anthony Hicks and wife Melissa, brother; Danny Hicks, sister; Miriam Pollard, step-father; Lawrence Junior Hicks, many cousins, nieces and nephews and their children, special friends, John and Lisa David, Betty Hull, Bobby and Julie Taylor, Sandra Davis, Jeanne, Meghan and Devin Boyles of Pleasant Gardens, NC, special pet; Rebel.

Mr. Hicks will be cremated and a visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center 405 South Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811)
