Joyce R. Sheppard

Joyce R. Sheppard, 71, of Raleigh, passed away at her home Friday, September 28, 2018. She was born November 22, 1946 in Macon, Georgia a daughter of the late Needham and Rebecca (Staples) Reeves.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 7600 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.

Joyce worked as an accountant with her husband and also in the furniture industry. She enjoyed fishing, plays and live music.

Along with her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her brother Richard Reeves.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Sheppard, her son Michael and his wife Jessica, her granddaughter Ava Sheppard and her sister Sue Gulledge.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Preston Robert Tisch Cancer Center at the following address, “The Tisch Brain Tumor Center”, DUMC 3624, Durham, NC  27710.

A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Bright Funeral Home 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.
