The Burial Service for Judith Holden Hill will be on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11am at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be visitation prior to the service in the fellowship hall beginning at 10 am.

At 82 years of age Judith Holden Hill, wife of the late John Turner Hill, slipped away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Berry Patterson (BP) and Bertha Mason Holden, she was born in Wake Forest, North Carolina on January 18, 1941. Judy graduated from Peace College in Raleigh, NC. In addition to her husband Judy was preceded in death by her brothers Richard Neil Holden and Randall Patterson Holden.

After marrying John on July 12, 1964, they moved from Wake Forest, to Memphis, Greenwood, Greensboro, and to Rock Hill in 1985. In 2021 relocated to Milton, Georgia. The Lord drew Judy to Him at an early age and she left eternal imprints of God’s love wherever she lived.

Faithfully worshipping at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Judy was a student of God’s Word through her Circle and Bible Study Fellowship. She devoted her life to prayer, the ministry of the Word, and blessing her family and friends in countless ways. Hospitality abounded in her home, and Judy was constantly delivering meals to friends in every season. Affectionately called Gran, her 4 grandchildren brought her great delight, and she avidly supported their sports and other activities. Member of the Amelia Pride Book Club and a volunteer as a Pink Lady at Piedmont Medical, Judy lived a service-filled life.

Judy’s faith guided her every day and she testified to the gospel of the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Even though her death leaves a gaping void in countless lives, her inspiring and lasting legacy will never fade. “Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Master.” Matthew 25:21

Judy is survived by her beloved children and grandchildren: James Wilson and Tyla Johnson Hill ( Kate and Clare), of Clemson, South Carolina, Jocie Hill and Clayton Edward Tiedeman (Wesley and Clayton) of Milton, Georgia; her sister-in -law Deborah Holden, of Wake Forest and sister Ginny Holden Keith (Charles) of Louisburg, NC and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
