Kathleen Micchia

Kathleen Micchia, of Wake Forest, NC (formerly Sharon, PA and Youngstown, OH), passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Wake Forest, NC at the age of 79.

Kathy was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Catherine Snover and Robert J. Snover on December 15, 1941. She went to school at Cardinal Mooney in Youngstown, OH. She married Joseph Micchia on June 30, 1962, and she is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Micchia; her children, Patricia Scharville (Michael), Joseph Micchia Jr. (Gina), and Thomas Micchia (Twila); her grandchildren, Michael (Abigail), Thomas (Juliana), Gabrielle, Juliana, Nicole, Avery, and Ian; her great-grandchildren Theo and Penelope; her sisters, Eileen, Joanne, Donna “Gigi,” Barbara (Ed), and many nieces and nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her sister Mary Ellen, her mother Catherine Snover, and her father, Robert J. Snover.

Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was an avid Mahjong and card player. Kathy also had an interest in stocks and even taught other women in her hometown about trading stocks. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, and she made it to every game she could. She was involved in an investment club, tennis, the Wake Forest Senior Center, and Wake Forest Presbyterian Church. 

Funeral services followed by a reception will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, November 20 at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church, 12605 Capital Blvd, Wake Forest, NC 27587. A recording will also be posted for those who cannot make it.
