Kenneth W. Stephens

Kenneth Stephens, 73, of Raleigh, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Raleigh. He was born in Wake County, January 16, 1947 a son of the late Joseph and Mattie (Jackson) Stephens.  

Kenneth was born and raised in the Raleigh area, retiring from Diesel Injection after 40 plus years of service.  He was a technical and mechanical guru; if you had a question, you could be certain he would know the answer.   He was a patient teacher and loved spending time with his family; video camera in hand to make sure we were able to enjoy and reflect on the memories for years to come.  His sharp wit kept you both on your toes and laughing, and was always up for a good debate. He was the voice of reason; fair and wise no matter the circumstance. 

We take comfort in knowing he is healed and rejoined with his parents Joseph and Mattie Stephens; and brother in law, Warren Peede; who preceded him in death.  Kenneth is loved and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to extend gratitude to Litchford Falls Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the outstanding and compassionate care they provided to him, and to our family. 

Kenneth is survived by his brother, Russell Stephens and his wife Patricia of Wake Forest, his sister Jo Ann Peede of Lantana, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Litchford Falls Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 8200 Litchford Rd. Raleigh 27615.
