Kohlton Lanier Myers

Kohlton Lanier Myers, our precious angel here on earth for 14 years, slipped away to his heavenly home on Sunday December 2, 2018.  
    He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to parents John Patrick Myers and Tiffany Harrelson Myers.  Kohlton has 2 brothers who dearly love him,  John Cameron, age 17 and Carson Patrick, age 12.  His good and faithful dog, Carolina, loved him too.
    Kohlton was a sweet child with a good heart.  He attended Heritage  Middle School.  He was everyone’s darling, to his teachers, his coaches, and the parents of his friends.  
    He loved sports from early on.  He played on soccer teams but finally settled on basketball.  He played for the Herons soccer team and the Carolina Waves AAU basketball team.  He valued team sportsmanship above individual achievement.
    Kohlton loved animals and they loved him.  He first loved the family Schnauzer Ruskie and, of late, his Cairn terrier Carolina.  He enjoyed his visits from the therapy dogs during his hospitalization at UNC  Children’s Hospital.
      He loved the beach and family vacations. He loved his cousins, Keegan and Katie. He loved tacos and Slushies.  
He was a huge fan of UNC basketball.  
    Kohlton was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia early in March 2018.  He was hospitalized for over 210 days of his 9 month illness.  His nurses grew to love his quiet compassionate personality and near the end, his doctors loved him too.  He was known for his quiet strength
     He worked on Legos while he was hospitalized until his parents couldn’t find a set he hadn’t done.  His Gammy bought him a book entitled “Drawing Dogs” and he drew until he drew them all.  Kohlton’s Gammy asked for a canvas and paints and he began to paint.  He sold 2 paintings while hospitalized and donated one.  Folks were standing in line for commissioned works but he became too ill to paint.  The ones he completed will be treasured forever.

     A  Celebration of Kohlton’s Life will be held at New Life Camp, 9927 Falls of Neuse Rd. Raleigh NC 27614 in the lower gymnasium on Wednesday Dec 5 at 7:30 pm with visitation preceding at 6:30 pm.  Hadley Kifner and Christian Robinson
will officiate.
