Lawrence "Larry" Ahlman

Lawrence James Ahlman, 79, of Wake Forest, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021.
He was born April 12, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James Frederick Ahlman
and Anna Freeda Neelsen Ahlman. He graduated from Riverside High School in
Painesville, OH, and received a B.S. degree in Biology from Mount Union College in
Alliance, OH. He worked for human and animal pharmaceutical companies for over
30 years.
Larry was devoted to his family, and especially loved spending time with his
grandchildren. His love of singing led him to lend his big bass voice to several
church choirs and various Barbershop quartets. He enjoyed cycling, sailing, and
playing tennis and golf with his buddies at Cypress Landing in Chocowinity, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Diane Ahlman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Carole Tipton Ahlman,
two daughters, Stacy Trevor and husband Scott of El Dorado Hills, CA, and Beth
Zingler and husband Neil of Wake Forest, NC, four grandchildren, Zachary and
Andrew Trevor, Eric and Anna Zingler, one sister, Joyce Ahlman of Painesville, OH,
niece, Johanna Ahlman (Richard Haky, their daughter Nora) of Painesville, OH, and
several cousins.
A memorial celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at
11:00 AM in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wake
Forest. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
