Lenore Claire Hing

Lenore Claire Hing of Youngsville, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 11, 2023. 

She was an exceptional woman overflowing with love, wisdom and passion for everyone she met.  Lenore loved people and people loved her.  Her greatest joys were being a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and loyal friend – she loved her family.  As a devoted wife and loving mother her greatest pleasures were gardening, bird watching, caring for her pets, baking cookies, making pizzas along with her famous yeast rolls. Lenore enjoyed fishing, crocheting, working puzzles, playing video games and BINGO.

Lenore was born in Morristown, New Jersey on September 15, 1938 to Evelyn and Charles Picot.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ellsworth Hing, sister, Helen Bennett, and brother, Don Picot. She is survived by her children, Bill Hing, Jeanette House (Gerald), and Tom Hing (Tammy), seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her brother Jim Picot (Maureen), and her favorite dog, Izzy. . 

Lenore was an active member of Celebration Church and will always be remembered for her devotion to God, her acts of service and kindness, and connection to her community.  Lenore served faithfully for 24 years in various volunteer positions in Celebration Church.  Over the last few years, you could find Lenore greeting people with a hug as they entered the church.  She passionately served with the food distribution team blessing families in the community. Lenore’s memory will always live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 18th, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Celebration Church, 8700 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27616. 

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Celebration Church, 8700 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27616.
