Linda Glen

July 19, 1946 ~ November 11, 2018 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Tribute

Linda Lea Meinz Glen was born in Roslyn New York in 1946. Linda was a free spirit from birth, and never knew a stranger. Linda was kind to all and always saw the good in everyone. Linda loved many things but her son Justin was number one.

If you knew Linda, you knew how much she loved cats, wolves, her family and her dew-ops (this was her word for music)! Linda's smile could light up a room. She loved to dance and sing and live life to the fullest. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Hilda Meinz.

Linda is survived by her son Justin (Little) Glen, his wife Ashley and their three children Braxton (Brackie), Rylee (Smiley Rylee) and Declan (Deckie) of Wendell, NC; her two sisters Cathy Stuphen of Florida and Janice Traber of Virginia, and the father of her son, Christopher Glen of Raleigh NC.

Memorial donations in Linda’s name may be made to the Safe Haven, 8431 Garvey Dr #137, Raleigh, NC 27616.

A letter from Justin:

My Mom, Linda. She was the single, most compassionate person I have ever known or even heard of. She gave her whole self to every person that came into her life, good or not. Linda was a caretaker by nature. Her favorite thing about life was being my Mom. I couldn’t have asked to feel more loved and I will live the rest of my life trying to make her proud.

Linda was born on July 19th, 1946 to Hilda and Frederick Meinz. She spent most of her young life in the Long Island, NY area. She met and married my father Chris Glen, there. They traveled to northern California together where I was born. I heard so many stories about riding in the baby seat of Mom’s bicycle, all over Novato, CA. We did everything together when I was younger. I never felt like a burden, and for that I am thankful.

Mom supported everyone in her life. She gave to people and charitable causes when she barely had enough for herself. She lived in a constant state of sacrifice, just so others could be happy. Making sure everyone in her life was taken care of was her happiness, what drove her. You could have searched, but you would not have found a bad bone in her body. I truly believe there was never a time when my Mom intentionally hurt someone, ever.

I found an old job application she filled out, but never turned in. When it asked for previous employment, she wrote this: “Took care of my Mom for 5 years.” In the section where it asked about what compensation was, she wrote: “Love!” Anyone who knew her, knows that sums her personality up quite clearly. Love was all she lived for. She didn’t need money, or fancy things, just love.

Although I didn’t get to say goodbye to my amazing Mom, I know she knew in her heart that, I loved her with all of mine.

Thank you Mom, for being colorful, positive, full of light and giving all your love to everyone that was lucky enough to cross your path. You truly are an amazing soul. Until we meet again MaMa, I love you.

Your Loving Son

Justin Christopher Glen
