Marc Thomas Matthews, 40, of Rolesville, NC, passed away on September 11th, 2018.
Marc was born to Thomas and Patricia Matthews on April 11th, 1978 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Superior Township, MI. Marc graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in Hoffman Estates, IL, in 1996, and eventually became a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving from 2000-2004. He was an enthusiastic patron to his country. Marc enjoyed playing sports, Michigan football and target shooting.
Marc married Christine “Dee” Hopkins in 2011. He went on to complete his bachelor’s degree and graduated cum laude from Purdue University in 2013. He worked as a Purchasing Coordinator for Wedgewood Custom Home Builders in Carmel, IN.
Marc is preceded in his passing by his father, Thomas Anthony Matthews; paternal grandfather Vincent Matthews; paternal grandmother Betty Matthews; maternal grandfather John Richards; and maternal grandmother Margret Richards.
Marc is survived by his wife, Dee Matthews, and their three sons: Miles, Easton and Cole Matthews. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Matthews, and two brothers: Matthew and Jonathon Matthews.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest, NC 27587. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.
