Michael William Sutton

Michael William Sutton passed away unexpectedly July 14, 2019 at the age of 57. The cause of death was a massive heart attack. Born in Raleigh, he attended local schools including Sanderson High School. A caring son, brother and father, Michael was also an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time in the countryside and on the coast of North Carolina. He loved fishing, winning Marlin tournaments in Morehead City, hunting and was especially fond of his sporting dogs. He was a winner in several championships with his walker hounds. He spent most of his career in a family owned construction business working alongside his father on both commercial and residential projects. He was a friend to all he met and was always ready to help anyone in need. At the time of his death, Michael was semi-retired and a resident in the coastal town of Minnesott. NC.

Michael is survived by his father, William R. Sutton and wife, Diane, of Wake Forest; his mother, Elizabeth “Betsy” Sutton of Raleigh; a daughter, Caitlyn S Jackson (David) and one grandson, Drew Walker Jackson of Swainsboro, Georgia; sisters, Sharon S. Neal (Bobby), of Holly Springs and Melanie S. Jones of Raleigh; step-brother, Anthony Hicks of Franklinton; cherished nieces and nephews, Justin Neal, Colin Neal, Lauren Neal and Emily Jones.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, July19th from 2-3pm, with services following at 3pm in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest. Rev. Harold Woodlief will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association (AHA) or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
