Nola Frazier Bailey

Nola Frazier Bailey, 82, passed peacefully on May 28, 2023 at Cadence Assisted Living of North Raleigh.

Nola was beloved by her family and friends, and all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend. We are comforted knowing that she was a woman of faith, and that she is now at peace in heaven.

Nola was born on March 28, 1941 in Neuse, North Carolina, the daughter of Ruby Frazier Hooks and Herman Paschal Frazier. She is survived by her three children, Sonya Bailey, Dana Johnson, Walt Bailey; her three grandchildren, Carrie Johnson, Olivia Bailey, and Violet Bailey; brother Doug Frazier, sister, Janie Frazier, and brother Jerry Frazier.

Nola was a wonderful Mother to her three children, and devoted her earlier years to them, being a stay-at-home Mother. She was also a loving Grandmother of three granddaughters and treasured her time with them. Nola also enjoyed spending time with Kai, her Granddog.

Later, Nola was employed with Century Link for many years, and retired at the age of 70. She was an active member of Wake Forest Baptist Church, was involved with the Wake Forest Woman’s Club, and she also enjoyed volunteering in the Wake County Public School System.

The family expresses their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and kindness that has been shown by family and friends. Additionally, the family is grateful to the loving staffs of Stay at Home Senior Care, Cadence Assisted Living, and ProMedica Hospice Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mrs. Bailey. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home of Wake Forest (405 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC). The family will begin receiving visitors at 1:30 p.m, with a memorial service being conducted at the funeral home. The burial service will be held immediately following at Falls Community Cemetery of Raleigh (12165 Old Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC).

Family and friends are invited to gather for a meal at the Fellowship Hall of Wake Forest Baptist Church following the burial (107 E. South Ave, Wake Forest, NC).
