Oza Mae Tomlinson

Oza Hayes Tomlinson, 81, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on October 24, 2021. She was born on December 4, 1939, to the late Melvin and Annie Hayes of Franklinton, North Carolina. 

Oza was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Annie Hayes.  She is survived by Eddie Tomlinson, her husband of 62 years.  She is also survived by her daughter, Pam McGhee and husband Andy, grandsons Brandon McGhee and wife Courtney, Cameron McGhee, Tyler McGhee and wife Lauren and great-grand-daughters, Emma, Mackenzie and Mila.  She is also survived by her brother Doug Hayes and wife Cheryl of Spring Hope, North Carolina.

Many people that knew Oza were deeply touched by the kindness that she showed and the concern that she always had for others.

Her grandsons were the apple of her eye and she thoroughly enjoyed being their MeMa. She reminded them often that she loved them.   

Oza retired in 2014 at the age of 74 so that she and Eddie could keep their great-grand-daughters, Emma and Mackenzie.  The time she had with them was a highlight of her life. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon at the Church.
