Patricia Jean Samiec

Patricia “Pat” Samiec, 58, of Wake Forest passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. She was born in Corning, NY the daughter of Mary Herron Farrell and Donald Farrell, Sr.

She was employed as Assistant Service Manager with Leith Mercedes in Raleigh, NC. Pat possessed an exceptional ability to relate and connect with anyone she met. Her kindness and quick-witted humor lit up the room, and all who knew her will remember her infectious smile fondly. A tremendous fighter she left this world on her on terms. In her free time, she loved being outdoors. She found joy in skydiving, stargazing, and the beach. An avid sports fan, she loved following the New York Yankees and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 7 o’clock Sunday evening September 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Pat is survived by her wife; Candy Woodlief, a son; Nathan Patrick Samiec of Charlotte, step-children; Justin Woodlief of Wake Forest and Lindsey Woodlief of Richmond, VA, grandchildren; Jackson and Ryan Woodlief both of Wake Forest, sisters; Mary Pfleiderer and husband Tod of Pine Valley, NY, Doreen Farrell and Audrey Farrell both of Painted Post, NY, a brother; Donald Farrell, Jr and his wife Rhonda of Painted Post, NY, a niece, Samantha Burris, nephews; Kenny, Kody and Travis Warner, Geoffrey Layton and Bo Farrell.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Duke Cancer Institute for cancer research 710 West Main Street Durham, NC 27701 in memory of Pat.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 5:30 – 7:00 prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center 405 South Main Street Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811)
