Peggy Sue Wampler

Peggy Sue Wright Wampler, 81 of Louisburg passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. She was born in Mayking, KY to the late Andy and Lula Stapleton Wright. Married to the late Lawrence Wampler from 1958 until his passing in 2016. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by R. C. and Glenn Wright infant brothers, Andrew Wright, Elizebeth Grubbs, Hazel Fugate, Martha Wampler, Betty Dicks, Franklin Delano Wright, and Dan Wright.

Peggy attended Franklinton Living Springs Church of God where she faithfully taught children's Sunday School classes. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Peggy is cherished and lovingly remembered by her son; Lawrence Daniel Wampler of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughters; Sally Hubbard and husband Stephen of Pound, Virginia; Melinda Smith and husband Bryan of Pound, Virginia; Monick Bell and husband Michael of Louisburg, North Carolina; Rebecca Burkett and husband Michael of Franklinton, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, sisters; Vena Wright and husband Roy Baker, Judy Coffman both from Dryridge Kentucky, brother; James Wright and wife Nita of Corinth, Kentucky, and a host of family and friends.

A service celebrating Peggy’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday evening in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center. 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home. Peggy will be taken back to her former home in Kentucky for a service on Monday at 11:00 AM at Everidge Funeral Home, 65 Main St., Whitesburg, KY 41858, and will receive friends from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Monday at Everidge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Craft Family Cemetery in Whitesburg.
