Priscilla Larcher Simmons, 78 of Rolesville, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was born July 7, 1942 in St. Lucia, West indies to the late Staniel and Mathurine Meriste Larcher. Priscilla was a devoted member of the Raleigh Vineyard Church where she immersed herself in the nonsectarian community. A graduate of St. Joseph’s College, she was a retired labor and delivery nurse who had a gift for serving others with compassion and respect. Priscilla enjoyed gardening and had a natural talent for growing plants as evidenced by her numerous houseplants and flourishing garden. She was also an accomplished cook and would often use this gift to minister to others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerome Simmons, Sr., and a beloved son Christopher Simmons.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jerome Simmons, Jr. and wife JacQuetta Foushee of Clemmons, her daughter, Sitherine Simmons of Carrboro, two sisters: Eileen Gardener and Doreen Grandison and five brothers: Glendon Larcher, Bernard Larcher, Wilbert Larcher, Peter Larcher, Richie Larcher, and one grand-daughter Simone Simmons.
A celebration of Priscilla’s life will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00AM in Bright Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM Sunday evening at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest.
