I only had the opportunity to meet Mr. Morgan a couple times. However, I certainly consider it an honor to meet somebody that meant so much to both his family and community. I am certain he will be missed by both. Our sincerest condolences.

My sincere condolences go out to the entire Morgan family. Richard and Judy own the house beside my mother's home in Perquimans County. Mr. Morgan was a dear friend of the family and always a joy to talk with. We will miss his visits to Hertford.

I take this opportunity to say that I thought a lot of Mr. Richard. About 6 weeks ago, I had the opportunity of sitting at the lunch table with him at Johnny's Bar-B- Q .in Louisburg. We talked about current issues and farming and shared a couple good laughs as we always did when we would see one another. We send our sincerest sympathies to the family and mourn the loss of a good man.

Mr. Morgan and his family have been so kind, friendly, and welcoming for over half of my life. I became to know the family as I was also a member of the Franklinton United Methodist Church Youth Group. I would often see Mr. Morgan around town and he always was just as thrilled to see me as I was to see him. His hugs were genuine, sincere and filled my heart with warm goodness. I hung on his every word and truly respected his character, Faith, hard work ethic, among a few of his qualities. And he was always wanting to hear about my family, my kids that he loved seeing when they were still young enough toTrick or Treat, and how I was doing. He always made time for a few minutes of conversation. And I will still look for him at Food Lion, the lunch spots, and passing out candy on Halloween. I am so saddened by this for this town and of course his beloved family. Y'all will be in my prayers.

To the Morgan Family. There are no words that can express our love for your family during this difficult time. You can rest in the assurance that he is with his heavenly father and that you will meet again together in that wonderful place for eternity.May God grant you peace that passes all understanding

Mr. Morgan was one of the first veneer men I met when I entered the industry 23 years ago. He helped me from the start and provided a wealth of knowledge about running a mill. He was born in the midst of the depression and possessed a drive and work ethic that was truly a marvel. He loved the Lord, life and people and would always cheer you up whenever you spoke to him. He was tough and disciplined and I never spoke to him when he was down, nothing could defeat him. We will miss you Richard.

Tears are flowing as I try to write my sadness, sympathy and empathy to your whole family. My life experiences are so similar to the passing of Richard into the presence of our Lord and Savior. Judy, as you remember, you and Richard, in your own faithful ways, was so instrumental in Danny coming to the Lord. You, and Richard especially, treated my children as niece and nephew-Richard always calling June as June "Bug" and you being so kind to them both, especially Eddie. Richard and your love for the Lord, His church and His children have always been expressed in you total lives. I rejoice in Richard's present state with our Lord and God as I also weep for you and yours who loved him so dearly. God grant you ALL the peace and direction you now take together through this loss and tragedy. Sending you mental hugs and love.......

A true gentleman, he set the bar high for the rest of us in every way. My heart goes out to the family as well as my sincerest wish that you find peace in knowing your father, husband, grandfather, brother patiently, already knows you will see him again & eternally. In death as in life, he is a kind gentleman from whose life all of us could learn many lessons & emulate were we to open our hearts to those lessons. Mrs. Morgan, my heart goes out to you. I remember you were always sweet to me when I was a child. I hope for peace, forgiveness & acceptance for all of you. It cannot be easy & even seems impossible after such a great loss, but I believe it is attainable for such a strong family as yours & you will guide each other through this. So many people are sending so much love for all of you right now, our dear Lord must be overwhelmed with the sheer volume being sent to Him with the fervent desire He ease it into your hearts. Can you even imagine God being overwhelmed by an outpouring of love? I never would have dreamed it could happen but I now believe that even He can feel, & is in awe of, the power of it coming through Him to you. I so wish words actually could help right now, but when they don't, each of you already know to Whom you can turn & you will find Him with Mr. Morgan at His side helping to send all that love right back to your family. My condolences to you all & my regrets I cannot be there to pay my respects in person.

Judy, Darlene, Richie and family,
There are no words to express how deeply sorry I am. I remember spending such great times with Darlene and your family. Richard was such a kind and gentle man and I love him dearly. He has always ask my dad about me everytime he saw him. I feel so sad for you all. I pray God will wrap his arms around you all so tightly and help you all through this terrible time.
Love and prayers to you all.
Janet
