Richard William Finn SR. 90 died at Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh NC.
with his wife by his side. He was a resident of Wake Forest, NC and previously
lived in Bucks County PA for 43 years. He had been battling Parkinson's Disease
for several years and died from pneumonia.
Born in Hartford CT, he was the son of Raymond and Barbara Mae Finn.
He was the beloved husband of Carole for 62 years, and the loving father of Richard Jr
(Brenda), Elizabeth Tuohey (Wayne) and David Finn (Carrie). He was the devoted
grandfather to Matthew Finn, Alanah and Nia Tuohey, and Jack Bingham.
He graduated from Buckley High School, Hartford CT. He attended Springfield College in Springfield MA. and transferred to Syracuse University graduating with a Bachelor of
Arts degree. He then went into the United States Marine Corps being honorably
discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He received a Mechanical Engineering Degree from
Hartford University.
For 40 years he was a sales engineer for the Torrington Bearing Company of
Torrington, CT. and resided in several different states in that position.
During those years he was a member of The Association of Iron and Steel
engineers and was Chairman for Fox Valley Division and Assistant Chairman of Advertising for SAE news.
His passion throughout his years began at age 12 for golf for which he played until
four years before his death, lap swimming and working out in the gym.
He especially enjoyed family vacations both at Cape Cod and the Outer Banks,
as well as ski vacations with his family.
He was a huge fan of football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful disposition which
attracted the gift of many friends.
He will be buried in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown PA.
