Rita Waldman Cohn died peacefully on July 20, 2020, at the Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Wake Forest. She was 89. Rita was born in Long Branch, N.J. and moved to Wake Forest with her husband, Dan, in 2004. She also lived in Mount Laurel and Marlton, N.J., Annapolis and Columbia, Md., Maryville, Tenn., and Hollywood, Florida.
Rita worked for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and a hi-tech company, Exitech. She was an exemplary cook who owned a catering business in Annapolis, Rita was especially known for her carrot cake, and she loved to entertain. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, who gave her much joy.
Rita was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Bess Waldman; her brother, George Waldman and Dan Cohn, her husband of 61 years, who died in 2012. She is survived by her children, Bob Cohn, Phyllis Cohn and husband Tom Bradley, Susan Sullivan and husband Michael Stanford, and Jane Trescott and husband Steve Weiner. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dale, Andrew, Jonathan, Ethan, Shaina, Jared and Lia.
