Robert J. "Bob" Nemes

Bob Nemes passed away in Raleigh on November 16, 2022. Bob was many things: devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, good friend. He leaves behind Pat, his wife of 59 years, and his three children: Tish, Rob and wife Liz, and Keith and wife Lorine, as well as four grandchildren: Olivia, Luke, Dahlia, and Ari. He is also survived by his sister Janet (of Juno Beach, FL) and his brother Rick and wife Glenda (of Isle of Palms, SC), along with three nieces and nephews: Tyler, Lisa, and Scott.

Bob and Pat lived in many places, from Hawaii to New Hampshire, and they considered themselves lucky to have found such a warm community in Wake Forest when they moved here five years ago. Those who knew Bob will remember his Catholic faith, his service in the Navy, his world-class listmaking, and his love for good jokes, cards, steaks, and “libations.”

A memorial mass in Bob's memory will be held in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Wake Forest on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Villas clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, a donation can be made in his memory to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (www.nmcrs.org).
