Tribute

Ronald Lee Perry, 82 of Knightdale, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Wake County to the late Woodrow Wilson and Minnie Pearle Davis Perry.  Ronald served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Wendell serving as a Deacon for many years.  He began his career with Otis Elevator in 1964, and retired from Godwin Elevator in 2001 after 36 years of service, making many friends along the way. Ronald was a former member of the Knightdale Lions Club, and enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, being with his family, and cooking for his family, especially on special occasions and holidays.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Wilson Perry.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Faye Watkins Perry, one son, Tracy Perry and wife Wanda of Wake Forest, one daughter, Ronalda “Miki” Herring of Knightdale, two sisters, Pattie Lou Rife of Virginia, and Etta Diane Wall and husband Freddie of Knightdale, four grandchildren, Jessica Perry Ellis and husband Michael, Rachel Perry and companion Dan Veneziano, Josef “Joey” Hazelrigg and wife Julie Kate, and Allison Keatts and husband Justin, seven great grandchildren, Whitley and Etta Rose Ellis, Zoe, Willow, Scarlett, and Sadie Keatts, and Ronald Hazelrigg

A Celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, with Pastor Aaron Wallace officiating.  The service will also be livestreamed, and may be viewed online by visiting, www.brightfunerals.com and clicking the livestream tab located at the bottom of the page of the online obituary. Entombment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM Wednesday afternoon at the Funeral Home.   

In lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ronald’s name to Transitions LifeCare Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607, Bethany Baptist Church, 3417 Rolesville Rd, Wendell, NC 27591, or to Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd, Wendell, NC 27591.
