Roy M. Lasater

Mr. Roy M. Lasater, 80, of Youngsville, died Tuesday July 20, 2021 at William M. Dunlap Center for Caring. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Otis and Florence (Holt) Lasater. Mr. Lasater was retired from UNC Chapel Hill where he was employed as a certified concessions manager. Roy also served in the US Navy.

Roy enjoyed fishing, bowling, yard work, traveling and spending time with his family. His two grandsons were the light of his life.  He loved sports especially watching basketball and football on TV.  He was an avid UNC fan. 

Roy and his wife, Sybal would have been married 57 years in August.  Roy will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. 

Mr. Lasater is survived by his wife Sybal (Westbrook) of Youngsville, son Jeffery (Beth) Lasater of Wake Forest, grandchildren: Aaron and Zachary of Wake Forest; sister Carolyn (Richard) Forbis of Angier, and brother Philip Lasater of Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Friday  afternoon July 23, 2021 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Youngsville. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
