Royal Winston Jones

Royal Winston Jones, 83, passed away on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at Durham Regional Hospital. He was born in Franklin County the son of the late Pearl Wilder Jones and Howell Gray Jones. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Ruth Harris, Hazel Kearney and Rachel Fatherly.

Mr. Jones was a US Army Veteran, a 57-year member of the Franklinton American Legion Post, and a 45-year volunteer firefighter at MCFD.

A funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon April 15, 2018 at the Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church in Franklinton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jones is survived by his son; Andrew Jones and wife Jessica of Youngsville, a daughter; Jennifer Ward and husband Tony of Raleigh, grandchildren; Tristan and Ava June Jones, a brother; Howell Lee Jones of Kittrell.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the NC Wildlife Endowment Fund.
