Ruth W. Mock

With great sadness, we announce the death of Ruth Mock, born August 4, 1932 in Pittsburgh (Etna), PA, who passed away on February 15, 2020, leaving family and friends to mourn.

She was loved and cherished by her family.  Ruth and her beloved husband, James (Jim) F. Mock, VMD and retired Army Colonel, originally from Pittsburgh (Plum Borough), PA, were married for 64 years and ultimately, after many relocations during their marriage, retired and settled in New Bern, NC to play more golf.

She had four loving children:  Ken Mock and his wife Debbie of Youngsville, NC, Susan Mock of Philadelphia, PA, Sherre Festa and her husband Michael of Verona, NJ, and David Mock of Youngsville, NC, and eight caring grandchildren:  Christen Pope and her husband Josh, Jasmine Jacobs and her husband Johnson, Casey Mock (predeceased her grandmother), Jamey Mock and his wife Maria, Kelsey Marrero and her husband Jose, Joe Festa, Jeremy Mock, and Carley Festa, along with four adoring great granddaughters:  Jaden, Jenna, Sydney, and Isabella.

She is also survived by an older sister, Jean Razum, and younger brother Robert Woistman and his wife Elvira, along with nieces and nephews, all from the Pittsburgh area.  She is predeceased by a younger sister Mary Lou Gissendaner.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, reading, golfing and bridge with friends, and crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint.  She loved spending time with the family, whether playing games, doing puzzles, or just relaxing at the Outer Banks.

She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February, 22, 2020 at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S.
