Tribute

Sammy Duane Mozingo, 47 of Franklinton passed away on Sunday July 24th 2022 in Morehead City, NC

He was born in Wake County a son of Ray Mozingo and Judy West Mozingo.

Sammy loved to fish and was known to brag about how his smaller fish was bigger than your fish. Sammy was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and of course to be a Cowboys fan you had to be die-hard because often the Cowboys would “die hard”. Closely behind his love for the Cowboys was his love for the North Carolina Tar heels. You would often find Sammy huddle around the television rooting for his Tar Heels to beat State. Sammy’s love for fishing, Dallas Cowboys, and the Carolina Tar heels was merely a drop in a bucket to the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Lucille West and by his paternal grandparents, Foy Daniel Mozingo and Rena Mozingo.

A memorial service celebrating Sammy’s life will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, July 31, 2022 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest.

He is survived by his wife, Erin Harden, daughters, Lauren Mozingo, Kloey Hester, Cameron Mozingo and Samantha Mozingo, stepsons Dylan Harden and Calob Harden: parents Ray and Judy Mozingo, a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Candace Mozingo, sister-in-law Christina Lee and brother-in-law John Harden.

A reception will be held at the home of Ray and Judy Mozingo, 557 John Winstead Road Louisburg, NC 27549 following the service.
