Stanley P. Denton, 72, of Wake Forest passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. He was born January 8, 1949 in Wake County to the late Wallace and Virgie Denton. A brother, Reid Denton, also preceded him in death.
A public viewing will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Bright Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 P.M. in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Stanley received a degree in Laboratory Technology, worked at Wake Forest Hospital, Wake Med, and retired from Duke / Wake Forest Family Physicians.
Stanley dedicated almost 50 years of his life to Wake Forest Fire Department as a volunteer, Assistant Chief and later as President of the Board of Directors. It was only due to his declining health that he had to retire from the Fire Department.
He enjoyed working in the yard, growing many varieties of flowers and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Denton, a daughter, Amy Denton Marshall and husband David, a son, Michael Denton, granddaughter, Erin Marshall, a brother, Tony Denton, an aunt, Kathy Richardson and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
