Stanley E. Graves, 75, of Raleigh passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at his home after a brief illness. Stan’s love and life will always be remembered.
Stan was born in Leominster, MA, and retired to the Raleigh, NC area in 2007. Upon joining the Army, Stan traveled and lived all over the world. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration degree in Arlington, VA, at Marymount University. He served 23 years in the Army. He served another 18 years in the Defense Contractor Industry. While in the Army, he received numerous awards to include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon(3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon(2), and the Legion of Merit.
Stan is survived by his wife, Pamela C. Graves; his brother, Earl W. Graves; his two nieces, Marcia Roddy and husband Peter; and Lynn Gleason and husband Archie.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gustov Graves.
A memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
