Tara Bliss Hatley

Tara Bliss Hatley, age 49, of Wake Forest, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 after a valiant and brave battle with cancer. She was born to Carolyn Bliss Hatley and the late Eddie Luther Hatley on April 5, 1969.
In addition to her mother, Tara is survived by her beloved daughter, Hallie Bliss Barnes, brother, Edward Hatley, his wife Dee, and two nephews Calvin and Zane. She also leaves behind a lot of caring relatives, extended family members and devoted friends. Tara attended Wiliam G Enloe High School in Raleigh, before attending Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Tara worked in the radiology department for Rex Healthcare in Wakefield since 2009 and she particularly enjoyed her close relationship with co-workers. Tara had a particular love of words, music, dance and the arts. Tara was immediately recognizable by her astonishingly beautiful smile and the bright spark for life and adventure that she shared with everyone. Spending time with family and friends was one of Tara’s greatest joys. She grew up spending holidays with her much-loved Aunt Bo (Marilyn) and extended family in Iron Gate, VA.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Tara over the last five months. Especially the amazing staff at Rex Hospital’s 5th Floor and the entire Oncology team. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Cancer Research Institute 29 Broadway, Floor 4, New York, NY 10006 or to the Animal Rescue group Saving Grace NC at PO Box 1649, Wake Forest, NC 27588.
The family invites you to join us for a Celebration of Tara’s wonderful life on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at the Bright Funeral Home located at 405 S. Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Sharing of memories will take place at 3 p.m.

Graveside will be held privately for the family.
