Terry Carter

Terry Wayne Carter, 71, of Wake Forest, NC died February 4, 2020. He was born February 9, 1948, in Louisburg, to the late Charles and Evelyn Carter.

Terry attended Wake Forest High School and Campbell College. In 1983 Terry was married to Susan Savage at Appleby Hall in Wake Forest. Terry was employed by Carter’s Auto Parts and then Wake Electric Membership Corporation before retiring.

Terry, a talented musician, was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church, where he especially loved singing in the church choir and men’s chorus. Terry had a strong sense of community service; serving numerous organizations in the Wake Forest area. He served as a Wake Forest town commissioner and then more recently as chairman of his neighborhood Board of Directors.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife Susan, his son, Stephen and daughter-in-law Courtney, and his grandson Berkley. He is also survived by his dear brother Jerry and his sons Matt and Drew, Drew’s wife Brook, and their daughter Jordan. He also leaves numerous loving family members and friends whom he adored.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm at Wake Forest Baptist Church, on Saturday, February 8, 2020. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
