Trudy Brown Scarboro

Leona “Trudy” Scarboro 92 of Franklinton, formerly of Wake Forest, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  She was born June 28, 1928 in Danville, VA to the late Moses Samuel and Gladys Hopkins Brown.  Trudy spent her earlier years in Maine.  She was definitely a Maine girl.  Weekends were often spent at home with her grandchildren watching all of the classics such as Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Magnum P.I. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Preacher” Scarboro, her son, Mark “Frenchie” Vigeant, one sister Betty Jenks, two brothers, Moses and Wendell Brown, two son-in-laws Jerry Robbin Young, and Freddie Douglas Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stacie Vigeant Young of Franklinton, Robyn Lydia   Smith and companion Dwight of Rolesville, Tim Scarboro of San Antonio, TX, and Carmen Johnston of Louisburg, her sister Nancy Baker and husband Gene of Pikeville, NC, her brother Edwin Brown and wife Shirley, her grandchildren Lisa Young Thayer and husband Charlie of Franklinton, Eric Vigeant and wife Jessica of Youngsville, and Paul Smith and of Franklinton, seven great-grandchilren, and six great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday February 11, 2021 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens by Rev. Gary Williams.
