Wallace Ethan Shearon, Jr., 88, of Wake Forest passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  He was a son of the late Wallace Ethan Shearon, Sr. and Zuda Barham Shearon.  A sister, Martha Shearon Hirschi and a brother, Charles Bayard Shearon also preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Wake Forest United Methodist Church with Rev. Karen Whitaker and Rev. Helen Champion officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the church. A private burial will be held. 

Wallace was born and grew up in Wake Forest, NC. He graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Music and earned a Ph.D. in Music from Indiana University. His career in music included time spent as a choir director, music professor, voice teacher, and concert singer. He was a music professor at Stetson University in Florida for 10 years and subsequently moved to Europe and lived and worked in Cologne, Germany for 30 years. While in Germany, he performed as a concert singer throughout Europe and taught voice to opera singers in Europe. Also, during this time, with his wife of 68 years, he created, led and managed the Training Institute for Psychodrama in Cologne, Germany. He and his wife returned to the US in 1998, expanding the Institute's programs in the US and continued the business until 2010. They moved back to Wake Forest in 2003 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

His is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Shearon, his sister, Beverly Tuttle, his son, Scott Shearon, his daughter, Nicki and her husband Nelson, and his grandson Ethan.
