William Arthur Nelson

William Arthur Nelson,71, died Monday August 12 at Transitions Hospice Care, Raleigh. He was born on April 20, 1946 in St Paul, MN to the late Robert and Dorothy Hagen. Bill moved to San Diego at 10 years old after his father died in the Korean War while serving the US Army in Northern France. Bill honored his father’s service by enlisting in the US Navy in 1964 serving 6 years during the Vietnam War. Bill and his wife, Aline moved to Youngsville, NC in June 2016 to enjoy their retirement in the wooded country town. Bill enjoyed fishing, camping, nature and carpentry. He was a Manager in the Home Security Business for many years.
A prayer service washeld Friday August 18, 2017 at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, NC at 11:00 am followed by a time of visitation. Bill will be interred in the Eastern Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery in Goldsboro on September 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm surrounded by family and friends.
He is survived by: his wife, of 35 years, Aline Ollivier Nelson; his family,  Mary Lou and Al Starr of Deep CT, Chuck and Sandi Ollivier of Rolesville, NC, Larry and Kathie Ollivier of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Jeanette Ollivier of San Diego, CA, Peter and Patti Ollivier of Spring Hill, FL and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans)
