William “Bill” Graves, 64, of Raleigh passed away on Sunday December 22, 2019.
He was born in Wake County the son of the late Eunice Miller Graves and Willie Graves. He was a contractor with Duke Energy and a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Northern Wake Fire Department.
Bill was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed the peace that nature brings to the soul. Whether boating, jet-skiing, spear fishing, hunting, teaching concealed carry, four wheeling or riding his Harley, the outdoors was his playground.
He will be remembered as an avid reader, excellent cook, skilled scuba instructor, world traveler, devoted husband, and dedicated father. He was affectionately know as Pops by his grandchildren and as Billy G around the firehouse.
Remember, as Bill would often say, “this is just a bump in the road and live your life to the fullest.” In so doing you honor his!
Bill is survived by his wife; Lori Graves, daughters; Kylie Carpenter and husband Charles, Stacy Fleming and husband Ryan, a son; Jeremy Graves and his wife Jenny, grandchildren; Henry, Adaire, Fox and Arrow, sisters; Gail Furtaw and husband Ed, Connie Lanning and husband Luther, Joyce Abernathy and husband Richard and a brother; Aldon Graves.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon December 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
