William Oliver Kerr

October 6, 2002 ~ December 20, 2020 (age 18) 18 Years Old

Tribute

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, William Oliver Kerr (18) of Wake Forest became absent from the body and present with the Lord. William was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, Steve Ghorley and Jeff Key of Athens, TN. William is survived by his parents, John & Camissa Kerr; brothers, Bailey and Elijah and sister, Maddie (all of Wake Forest, NC); maternal grandmother, Cathy Key of Athens, TN; paternal grandparents, Felix & Pat Kerr of Athens, TN; Aunt Crystal Ghorley of Wake Forest, NC; Stefanie Ghorley and Susie Ratliff of Athens, TN; cousins, Felix and Samuel Kerr of Wake Forest, NC; Ruthie and Sophie Rogers and Levi and Lizzie Ghorley (all of Athens, TN); and Uncle David Kerr of Troy, IL.

William was a Junior at Wake Forest High School.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed riding bikes and skateboarding with friends.  He was an amazing friend to so many, he was so kind and loved serving others.  He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club for several years and volunteered in their hockey program.  He loved music and hanging out with his brother Bailey.  William was a playful young man and loved to tease and aggravate his siblings, Bailey, Maddie, and Elijah.  Like his father, William enjoyed working with his hands. He worked with his dad on construction jobsites and in his spare time was teaching himself how to weld.  William was resourceful, when others saw “trash” he saw something that could be fixed.  As a result there were many bikes pulled out of dumpsters that became rideable again.

What really should be known about William Kerr is his love for his family and his friends. He was fiercely loyal to the people that he loved.  He was sweet, he was kind, he was generous and he was honest.  He was a beautiful human being full of life and energy.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  The family is taking comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ who is able to sympathize with us in this time of weakness.
