William Wright

William Wright, 84, of Wake Forest, died Wednesday, November 22 2017 at home with family by his side. He was born on May 3, 1933 in Youngsville, NC to Leroy and Estelle Wright. He married Marjorie Wright (née Bailey) on December 21, 1952 and they had one daughter, Paula. He worked as a grocer at Fowler's Foods in Durham, NC, and later transferred to Lyon's Grocery where he worked until he retired.

Mr. Wright was an incredibly spiritual man, living each day to the glory of God. He was also an accomplished musician. He played guitar from the age of 14, first in church then on his father's gospel radio program and any other opportunity that presented itself. He was always ready with a joke and a song.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, November 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Phillips and the Rev. Robert Piper officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ethan Nicholas, Kevin Ruffcorn, Jonathan Turner, Walter Honeycutt, Moses Morales and Jose Morales. 

William is survived by his wife Marjorie; his daughter, Paula and her husband, Jim; his granddaughters Tabitha and Nicole; his great-grandsons Jacob, Samuel, Spencer and Gavin and by many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Estelle Wright (née Edwards) and by his brother, Robert Joe Wright.
