Bobby Wilson, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 15, 2018 at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh. He was born July 2, 1937 to the late Robert Early Wilson and Lucy Dickerson Wilson. Bobby grew up in Granville County farming tobacco with his family. He was a veteran of the US Army reserves from 1959-1965.
In 1960 he met the love of his life, Faye Riddle. They were married a few months later. Over the next 10 years Bobby and Faye were blessed with three daughters, one of which the Lord called home in 1970.
Bobby was involved in sales and transportation most of his life retiring in 2011 as a supervisor from Triangle Transit Authority (TTA).
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean, grandson, Christopher Blackley, two brothers, Lonnie and Bill Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. Rev. Bradley Johnson and Rev. Will Vergara will co-officiate. Entombment will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Garden, Wake Forest.
He is survived by; his wife, of 57 years, Faye Riddle Wilson; daughter, Deborah Blackley and husband, Scott, Rhonda Lester and husband, David; grandchildren, Carey Snell, Andrew Blackley, Joseph Blackley, Allen Lester, Sarah McVeigh,; five great-grandchildren; a brother Frank Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Baptist Church, Youngsville.
