Betty Maynard

Mrs. Betty Maynard, of 896 Youngsville Blvd., Wake Forest, NC, went to see her Lord on July 18, 2017. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Frazier Mabe and Mary Elizabeth Archer, two brothers, Archer Mabe and Donald Mabe .
She leaves behind daughters, Donna Lynam, husband Roy Lynam, and Deborah Scholz ; Four Grandchildren: Angie, Christa, Leah and Nicholas, Five Great- Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild.
Betty was a librarian at the Wake Forest Seminary. She held an undergraduate degree from Averette University and a Master’s Degree from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She retired as a Media Director from Danville, VA. city schools and later published three books of her Family Genealogies.
She was a member of Wake Union Baptist Church, The DAR and the Wake Forest Historical Association.
Family will receive loved ones at 10:00 am, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest (919) 556-5811, followed by her memorial service at 11:00am. Her internment will be at Mt.View Cemetery in Danville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wake Union Baptist Church Land Fund, Kindred Hospice of Oxford or The Wake Forest Museum.
