Welcome to the memorial page for

Eileen S. Dail

March 19, 1926 ~ April 8, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Eileen Smith Dail, also known as "Faye," was born on March 19, 1926 in Esserville, Virginia, to the late Oliver
and Maude Smith. She was the oldest of five children. She was big sister to Jean, Bobby, Jim, and Jan. She
grew up in Kentucky and in the mountains of Virginia, where her father was a coal miner, and her mother
was a homemaker.

At the age of 18, she moved away from home to work as a ship-welder in the U.S Navy Yard in Portsmouth,
Virginia. It is here that she met her love of a lifetime, William Henry Dail, Jr., known as her "Henry." They
married on August 25, 1944. In the years that followed, they made a family together. William Henry Dail, III
was born August 31, 1946, followed by Randall Oliver Dail on April 8, 1952.

Eileen began to learn the truth about Jehovah God when Carol Combs knocked on her door in the door-to-door
ministry in 1955. She began studying the Bible with Anna Croy, and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses
on June 15, 1956. Henry began to study the truth in 1958, and joined Eileen as a dedicated, baptized Jehovah's
Witness in 1959. Together, they raised their family in Jehovah's organization, teaching their sons the truth.
She gained two daughters-in-law when Bill married Paulette, and Randall married Lola. This led to Eileen
becoming "O'ma," with the additions of her five grandchildren: Dusty, Jason, Roddy, Ryan, and Jennifer.
These grandchildren gave her even more family to love when they began to marry: Dusty's wife Angela;
Jason's wife Terry; Roddy's wife Nicole; Ryan's wife Andrea; and Jennifer's husband Dale. Her joy only
increased with the birth of each of her eight GREAT grandchildren: Joshua, Andrew, Victoria, Conner,
Madilyn, Luke, Avery, & Samuel. Eileen was widowed in May 1992, when her beloved Henry passed away.
She patiently awaited the time when she could welcome him back and show him how their family had grown!
Eileen survived to see the fruitage of their fine example and couldn't wait to show Henry; as four generations
of the family they started is currently serving Jehovah faithfully.

She was a teacher of God's Word, the Bible, and brought the truth to many honest-hearted ones. She took every
opportunity to talk to people about her loving God, Jehovah. She auxilary pioneered at least one month out
of the year, up until last year. She got her field service time by old-fashioned letter writing and telephone
witnessing. She would even conduct her Bible studies over the phone.Up until she passed away, as long as she
could talk, she would talk about Jehovah and His promises to her nurses and aides, placing brochures with all
that would listen, and even participated in the letter writing campaign to Russia. A strong, faithful woman that
truly did her best for Jehovah.

Eileen will be remembered for many things; she had a wonderful, loving, fun personality and a great sense of
humor. If you ask her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren for one word to describe their O'ma,
this is what you get: faithful, loyal, strong-willed, steadfast, happy, jellybeans (the woman loved
Jelly Belly jellybeans and always had some in a bowl to share), beauty, giggly, winsome, determined, spiritual,
"sha" (what she would say if she was given a compliment), loving, wise, encouraging, elegant, zealous,
hard-working, enduring, refined, giving, classy, storyteller..and the list could go on!
She loved to cook, especially for her family, and her sons loved her sausage gravy and homemade biscuits!
And she was almost famous for her homemade applejacks! When she was able, she always had a garden -
fruits, vegetables, and flowers. She loved animals, enjoyed country and classical music, and enjoyed reading.
She loved any kind of chocolates, but Godiva was her favorite! She loved to go to the beach and look and listen
to the ocean; but the mountains were where her heart was. Her favorite past-time, besides talking about
Jehovah, was spending time with her family. She was a "hands-on" grandmother; played barbies with her
granddaughter, built forts with her grandsons, and even made tents out of sheets and blankets in her living
room with her great grandchildren.

While we will miss our dear, sweet Eileen, or"mama" or "O'ma", we cherish our precious memories and take
comfort in the promise given to us in John 5:28,29 from our Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, "Do not be amazed
at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those
who did good things to a resurrection of life..." We know that Eileen is well-impressed in Jehovah's perfect
memory and He will bring her back to us soon! Eileen's favorite scripture was Psalm 37:29, "The righteous
will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it." She had full trust in that promise. In fact, near the
end of her life, she told her family to "wait on Jehovah." We will wait on Jehovah to fulfill those promises and
we can't wait for the day when we get to welcome her back in the resurrection into a perfect world ,with
perfect health, and life eternal spent honoring our Creator, Jehovah God!
